On this first friday of June, the progmetal power trio Iris Divine has launched their second promo video for their latest album Mercurial!
The song ‘Thirteen’ is the song of choice and it displays the broad range of sounds and emotions that the band aims for in a dynamic and engaging way!
Frontman Navid Rashid had the following to say about the track:
“‘Thirteen’ is the longest and proggiest track on Mercurial, but we felt strongly enough about it to release it as a single and video! Musically, the aggression evolves through some twists and turns but remains anchored by the vocal, with standout drum and bass performances by Scott and Brian. Lyrically, it is about the uncomfortable and painful space between two people slowly growing apart, and in true prog-nerd fashion, the title reflects a recurring pattern of phrases of 13 throughout the song Many thanks to Ryan at Indigo Republic, for an intense performance clip that nails the emotion and atmosphere of the track.”
